Celso Garcia is a Professor in Physical Geography at the University of the Balearic Islands.
Qualifications: 1997 PhD in Geography, University of Barcelona.
Research interest: surface and groundwater hydrology in Mediterranean climates (temporal series analyses, short-term climate anomalies), temporal streams (ecology, hydrology and sediment transport), and water resources (water demand, water management in touristic and urban areas). He has been recently collaborating in competitive research projects on management and conservation of temporary streams, and on sediment and water dynamics in large rivers of the Pyrenees. His research on the topic of water management has been used by the municipalities in Barcelona for their Ordinance about water saving (2005) and his proposed measures on Drought and the touristic sector used by the Government of Catalonia (2008).
